The Central Registrar of Co-operative Societies (CRCS)-Sahara Refund Portal provides a convenient way for the depositors of Sahara Group of Co-operative Societies to apply for refund and receive their dues within 45 days. Depositors registering on the CRCS Sahara refund portal will witness the first payment of up to Rs. 10,000 being disbursed to one crore investors who have deposited Rs. 10,000 or more. Once the initial payment of the 5,000-crore project concludes, a renewed appeal will be presented before the Supreme Court to facilitate the reimbursement of the remaining outstanding sum to the remaining investors.
Cut-off Dates for Claims
Depositors of the following societies are eligible to apply for claims if they have deposited their money before the specified dates and their receipts are outstanding:
- Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited
- Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited
- Hamara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited – Deposit before March 22, 2022
- Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited – Deposit before March 29, 2023

- Membership Number
- Deposit account number
- Aadhaar linked mobile number (mandatory)
- Deposit Certificate/Passbook
- PAN Card (Mandatory if the claim amount is Rs.50,000/- and above)
15 Steps to Apply on CRCS Sahara Refund Portal
- Step 1: Open CRCS Sahara Refund Portal by visiting https://mocrefund.crcs.gov.in/ or Click Here.
- Step 2: Register as a depositor by providing your 12-digit membership number, last 4 digits of your Aadhaar number, your 10-digit Aadhaar-linked mobile number and captcha. Click on “Get OTP”.
- Step 3: Enter the OTP received on your Aadhaar linked mobile number to complete the registration process.
- Step 4: On the depositor login screen, enter the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar number, your 10-digit Aadhaar-linked mobile number and captcha. Click on “Get OTP”.
- Step 5: Enter OTP.
- Step 6: Once logged in, provide your consent as prompted by Aadhaar. On the next page, accept the terms and conditions by clicking “I agree”.
- Step 7: On the Personal Details screen, enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number and click on “Get OTP”. You will receive OTP on the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar.
- Step 8: Enter OTP and click on “Verify OTP”.
- Step 9: After verifying the OTP, your Aadhaar user details will be displayed, which will include first name, middle name, last name, date of birth and father’s/husband’s name.
- Step 10: Alternatively, you can enter your email address and click “Save Email”, then hit the “Next” button.
- Step 11: Enter the details displayed on the Certificate of Deposit.
- Step 12: Click on “Submit Claim” to see all the details in the grid below. Here, you can add multiple claim requests.
- Step 13: Make sure that all the claim details are entered correctly, as the already filled claim request form cannot be changed or added later.
- Step 14: Paste your latest photograph and sign on the claim form along with the photograph.
- Step 15: Upload the claim form and a copy of your PAN card on the “Upload Document” screen. (PAN card is mandatory if the claim amount is ₹50,000 or more)
Make sure that the signed claim request form along with photograph and PAN card does not exceed the size limit of 12 MB and 50 KB.
On successful submission, a thank you page will appear, providing you with the claim request number for future reference.
Refund Disbursement Deadline
Sahara Society will verify and process the claim within 30 days from the date of submission. After verification, the authorized verifiers and CRCS will process the claim in the next 15 days. Depositors can expect refunds to be credited to their bank accounts within 45 days of filing their online claims, subject to availability and verification of funds. They will receive status updates through SMS and portal.
